As of December 2008, the minimum screen resolution we design for is 1024 px wide. This means the design should be optimized for a viewport width of 990px (the monitor width minus vertical scrollbar in browser)

This table outlines the percentage of 800 by 600 users among a selected group of client websites. It is useful to determine how close we are to stop designing websites for the static width of 760px.

Previously, the mark has been at 5%. FSBO.com has already reached this mark. The growth of handheld devices further complicates this issue.
