SETTING UP MEMBER CATEGORY FILTERS
- If the account is to be used with the member database, a few notes first:
- 1. When the Web site admin updates the primary contact email and/or member contact email, this information is immediately updated on the Communicator account
- 2. When a member changes their primary email, this update is not posted to the Communicator account until it has been approved in the member database pending area.
- 3. If the Web site admin adds. re-names or deletes a member category or sub-category, this change is reflected immediately in their Communicator account.
- Below is the list of procedures to get the categories set as filters in the account:
- 1. Go to Subscribers >> Fields >> Member Categories >> Edit Options
- Do NOT edit this list. This is the list of main categories/sub-categories imported from the member database. Note - the main category is listed first, then followed by a / and then the sub-category.
- 1. Go to Subscribers >> Fields >> Member Categories >> Edit Options
- 2. To create a filter, click on the filters tab, and hit "Create Filter"
- EXAMPLE: your first filter may be simply "Accommodations" - add a description to this filter if needed
- Next to "Add Filter Field" - select "Member Category" >> Click "Add"
- Be sure to select "Is Equal To" then select your first category "Accommodations/Bed and Breakfast". You may continue to add as many categories to create the single filter for "Accommodations" by clicking on the "Add another condition" link. When you have finished adding these to the filter, hit "Save Changes"
- 2. To create a filter, click on the filters tab, and hit "Create Filter"
- 3. You may now use this filter to send out a blast to this group of members and member contacts.
CREATING LISTS FROM FILTERS
- Once you have completed a filter, you may then create a list based on that filter. This is useful in sending our an email to more than one group/filter such as Accommodations and Attractions.
- 1. Click "Subscribers >> "Lists" >> Create List
- 2. Provide a name and optional description for this list
- 3. Once the list has been created, click "add" - you may now add members to this list based on the filter you have created.
- 4. Select the filter >> click "Add Members"
